ITB Rangkul Alumni Farmasi dan Apoteker Indonesia Salurkan Bantuan Gempa Bumi Cianjur

Collaboration between the ITB Pharmacy Alumni Association (IA) and the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI), ITB University distributed aid to residents affected by the earthquake in Cianjur, West Java.

Head of Public Relations and Publication of IA ITB, Zaumi Sirad, said that the distribution of aid was carried out by 13 ITB disaster response teams who had been on duty at the disaster location since Monday, November 21, 2022.

The team together with the ITB School of Pharmacy (SF) and the ITB Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) then mapped and planned the needs of the victims.

Among others, medicines, disposable medical supplies, food and food ingredients, blankets, shrouds, baby diapers, adult diapers, milk, breast milk substitutes, eucalyptus or telon oil and others.

"After obtaining the needs data, procurement of goods was carried out with funds coming from LPPM ITB assisted by the results of fundraising donations from stakeholders of the School of Pharmacy - ITB," said Zaumi Sirad in a written broadcast on Monday, November 28, 2022.

The assistance was obtained from individuals, institutions and companies, including PT. Kimia Farma, PT. Dexa Medika, PT. Benfood Dinamika Sentosa, PT Imedco Djaja and Ganeshfit.

Meanwhile, institutions that provided donations included the ITB Pharmacy Alumni Association and the Indonesian Pharmacists Association.

"From the various forms of assistance, assistance was obtained in the form of food, drinks, health supplements, medicines, health equipment, suitable clothing and others," he explained.

The collected aid was then symbolically received by the Regent of Cianjur Herman Suherman and then distributed by the Cianjur Regency Health Service, representatives of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association of Cianjur Regency, and other partners.

Not only that, he said, the ITB team also participated in distributing aid to various refugee posts to fill the gap in aid distribution.

On that occasion, the team also built shelter tents, a clean water supply and management team, and a seismograph installation team to monitor earthquake activity.

Next, the incinerator team and the team tasked with providing psychosocial assistance.
